Jenny Burnett received her BFA in Dance from the University of Akron. In addition, she studied Laban Movement Analysis as well as being a scholarship student of Murray Louis and Alwin Nikolais in New York City. She received her Masters in Education from Kent State University and is certified in Evans Dance Technique. Jenny has taught at various institutions, including the Wayne Center for the Arts, Cleveland Ballet Conservatory, Kent State University, and Lake Erie College. She has served as a member of the board of trustees of Ohiodance and has performed with numerous choreographers and companies in Ohio as well as presenting her own work. Jenny has presented at education conferences and workshops throughout Ohio as well as National conferences. She has written articles for The Orff Echo, a professional Music and Movement Education journal and helped to pen the Ohio “Service and Resource Guide for Educators of Gifted Students”. Recently Jenny served on the writing team for the Model Curriculum for the Ohio Department of Education’s Arts Standards. She is currently the Performing Arts Department Chair and teaches Creative Movement and Dance to students grades PreSchool through twelve.
Falon Baltzell a native Mississippian, is a dance artist who enjoys the challenge of minimalistic design and movement limitations. Baltzell is the recipient of a 2014 Teacher Fellowship at Bates Dance Festival. She has also been honored with a 2013 Graduate Assistant Fellowship and five consecutive summer-study scholarship for the Bill Evans Teachers’ Intensive. Baltzell has studied with Bill Evans, Maura Keefe, Karl Rogers, David Dorfman, and former Trisha Brown dancer Mariah Maloney, among others. She has performed for James Hansen Assemblage Dance, Bill Evans Company, The Movement Project, and her own work in FB Dance.
Baltzell is a certified Evans Teacher, holds a K-12 Teacher Licensure, received her BFA in Dance Education and MFA in Performance and Choreography. She has taught choreography and modern dance technique during American College Dance Festivals at Penn State and Hofstra University. Baltzell has Presented scholarly research in Mississippi and Western NY, including recent research: Theoretical Negotiations: Spatial Landscape as an Elaborate Illusion or Distilled Vision. Baltzell is currently dividing her time as the Director of Upper School Dance at Hathaway Brown School, and developing her choreographic artistry in FB Dance, a collaborative dance project under the artistic direction of Baltzell.
She often performs solo works, and for ensemble pieces, she mostly collaborates with local artists. Since its’ founding in 2010, FB Dance has premiered works extensively in Western NY and Northeast OH, throughout NYC, MS, and most recently in PA.
