Bravuras is a select ensemble of students in grades 10-12 that performs advanced women’s choir literature in the a cappella tradition. Students in this choir develop their musicianship and musical independence in a small ensemble setting. Bravuras further their understanding of music theory and history and continue to improve sight-singing skills and vocal technique. Performance opportunities include annual winter and spring concerts, collaborative events with neighboring schools and collegiate choirs, school events and assemblies, and community events. This ensemble has been selected to sing locally numerous times, has toured out-of-state and abroad, and came in eighth place at the International Championship of High School A Cappella in 2006.
