Our Faculty & Staff

Hathaway Brown School faculty hail from all parts of the United States and around the world. The faculty do more than provide encouragement and set high expectations for HB students; they've invented academic designs that enable students to challenge themselves to excel, explore and discover. The Teacher's College of Columbia University recognized Hathaway Brown School for its transformative educational leadership.

Kristen joined Hathaway Brown in the fall of 2014 after spending 11 years teaching in the public schools. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a B.A. in the Education of the Handicapped, K-12. She possesses a Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Intensive Intervention Specialist Licensure in Ohio. Prior to coming to Hathaway Brown, Kristen was an elementary Intervention Specialist in the Euclid City School District. She was responsible for teaching a diverse group of learners, including those with a Specific Learning Disability, Attention Deficit /Hyperactivity Disorder, Emotional Disturbance, and High Functioning Autism. Kristen brings with her experience in working with teachers and parents in identifying and providing direct instruction to students needing educational and behavioral support.
Kristen has received training in the Ohio Common Core Learning Standards, Wilson Reading Program, Lucy Calkins Writer’s Workshop, Responsive Classroom, Co-Teaching, and administering and interpreting assessments.

Kristen and her husband have a daughter and two sons. She enjoys cooking and reading.
