Our Faculty & Staff
Hathaway Brown School faculty hail from all parts of the United States and around the world. The faculty do more than provide encouragement and set high expectations for HB students; they've invented academic designs that enable students to challenge themselves to excel, explore and discover. The Teacher's College of Columbia University recognized Hathaway Brown School for its transformative educational leadership.

M.A., Stanford University
A long-time educator, Margaret started her career in the public schools of Menlo Park, California where she taught English, History, and ESL. She also served as English Department Chair and Lead Teacher for Curriculum and Instruction.
After moving to Ohio, from her home state of California, she taught English in the Oberlin Public Schools, as well as coordinated curriculum, instruction, and program compliance of their International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. She also taught a graduate level course to aspiring teachers enrolled in Oberlin College's Masters in Music Education program.
Margaret first came to HB to teach English in the Upper School and then later transitioned into the College Counseling Office.
As has been the case in all of her roles in education, Margaret finds great joy in helping students discover their path, find their voice, and reach their goals. She is energized daily by the hard work and deep thinking of HB students and all of the possibility that lies before them.
In her free time, Margaret likes to read, admire the lake, work in her yard, and see new places. She and her husband live in Bay Village with their two sons and elderly beagle.
