Volunteering Builds Community

2018-2019 HBPA Committees & Volunteer Opportunities

The HBPA sponsors and/or supports a full spectrum of events and activities throughout the school year for parents, students, prospective families, and other members of the community. Getting involved with HBPA and volunteering for these events is a great way to meet other parents and faculty and staff while giving back to the school.

Please take a moment to review the opportunities available (listed below) and complete the form to indicate your interest. You will be contacted as the need for assistance arises. Please indicate your interest in the following opportunities. You will be contacted by the HBPA.

Consider taking one hour a week or every other week to work in the Brown Bag selling snacks, spirit wear and other gift items. All proceeds are directed back to the school. This is a fun way to see the girls, stay connected, and support the school at the same time. Training and support are provided.​​
Three to five parents per grade level are needed to plan different events with the grades, including a back-to-school party, end-of-the-year party, and parent party. Duties include welcoming new families, facilitating communication, and other grade-level responsibilities. One parent from each grade will be asked to serve as point person. ​
Assist Admissions and HBPA in welcoming new families by representing at Open Houses and prospective and new family events, and serving as host families during the summer months.​​​
Support the Advancement Office by working on alumnae events, soliciting support for the Annual Fund and thanking current donors.​
Assist the Shopping Rewards Chair in publicizing and coordinating various shopping rewards programs, including those offered by Heinen's, Giant Eagle, Amazon Smile, Box Tops, etc. ​​​
Assist the Decorations Chair in creating seasonal holiday displays in the Prime, Middle, and Upper schools. ​
Assist the Spirit Committee Chair with events and activities throughout the divisions to encourage and promote HB community spirit. ​
Assist with the planning, set-up and running of this fun all-school event that kicks off Homecoming weekend. ​​​
Assist with set-up, games and activities on the first of two school-wide Legacy Days.​​​
Help the School Photo Chair coordinate picture-taking of students on photo days, and distribute photo packages in late fall and early winter. ​​
Volunteer at this annual event where dads, grandfathers or special friends enjoy breakfast with their HB students.​
Volunteer to help with this annual potluck celebration of our diverse, multicultural community. Students, families, faculty and staff from all of our school divisions come together each winter for an evening of dinner, music, arts, crafts, and games. ​​
Assist the Prime Event Chairs with planning and running this fun event for K-4 families that takes place on a weekend afternoon in the winter.​
Assist in planning and/or chaperoning this relatively new Middle School event filled with games, activities and dinner for grades 5-8.​
Show appreciation to our wonderful HB faculty and staff. Work on the planning committee, prepare food for the breakfast, staff a shift or solicit donations.​
Volunteer at this annual event where moms, grandmothers or special friends enjoy breakfast with their HB students.​
Assist with set-up, games and activities on the second of two school-wide Legacy Days.​
Assist the After-Prom Chair with various activities throughout the school year. This committee's activities vary year to year, with fundraising, location, theme, activities, and entertainment for 11th and 12th graders for an After-Prom celebration. ​
