Our mission: to enhance communications between the School and the parents/guardians of HB students, to promote better understanding and greater unity within the HB community ,and to provide a means whereby the parents/guardians may participate in furthering the welfare of the School in accordance with the Administration’s mission through organizing volunteers, programs, and activities, and through raising funds for and making grants to the School.

HBPA Awarded Grants

2015-2016

  • $20,000 to the Turf Field
  • $6,733 to the Middle and Upper School Orchestra for 55 new chairs for the Orchestra Room
  • $4,760 to HB Athletics for two new water fountains, which will allow students and athletes to easily fill their reusable water bottles
  • $2,500 to the Brian Matters Foundation
  • $8,000 toward the purchase of six tables and 36 chairs for the Atrium. This removable seating provides space for students near the Dining Hall for studying, eating lunch, conducting meetings, and hosting classroom breakouts.
  • $600 to the GROW (Girls Reaching Others Worldwide) Foundation to help strengthen the partnership GROW has with Sisterhood, an after-school program for adolescent at-risk girls in grades 5-12. These funds will support the cost of various leadership and wellness programs.
  • $500 to provide funding to bring Yale University's a capella ensemble Out of the Blue to HB. The group will work with Upper School vocal arts students and perform for Prime, Middle, and Upper School students.

Volunteer Opportunities

The HBPA sponsors and/or supports a full spectrum of events and activities throughout the school year for parents, students, prospective families, other members of the community. Organizing and volunteering at these events is a great way to meet, mingle, and enjoy one another's company!

In addition to room parents and committee volunteers, we are looking for people to chair or co-chair some of the committees for 2016-2017.  If you are interested, please contact Tasha Mixon
