Multiculturalism and Service Learning
The Primary School is committed to building an inclusive and respectful community where all students and their families are welcome. Our students begin to build respect for differences from an early age and continue the conversation throughout their years in the Prime. Girls engage in conversations prompted by curriculum, literature and personal experience.
Upper School girls spend time in our classrooms connecting with students while also working to heighten their awareness and understanding of others around issues of inclusion, exclusion and group membership.
In our third grade curriculum students explore tolerance. Through this curriculum girls gain an understanding for, and an appreciation of, others. Learning to talk about social injustice and beginning to problem-solve ways to make a difference in this world is motivating and often inspires students to become active in being part of the change in their world.
