M.Ed., John Carroll University
She was raised in the west suburb of Paris, Les Yvelines, near Versailles. She passed a selective exam to be part of the French educational system during her first year in high school. After her Baccalaureate, she entered the Normal School of Saint-Germain-en-Laye to be trained as a teacher. She worked in several French schools while continuing Spanish studies in the University of Paris X. She then decided to take a sabbatical year to teach in Spain and in the United States. The Denver International School, a bilingual institution where she taught in Colorado, reinforced her desire to teach French as a foreign language.
After marrying a Clevelander, she started working for Hathaway Brown School, and has been a World Language teacher for the past 27 years. Her goal has always been to instill in her students her passion for languages. Creating ties with other schools in the French and Spanish speaking countries has also helped her broaden language teaching beyond the walls of the classroom.
Lise's daughter Isabelle graduated from HB in 2009.
