Head Varsity Swimming coach steps down after 13 years
2008 season marked by having the most decorated team in HB swimming history

After spending countless hours in the pool, on the deck and at meets all over Ohio, head varsity swim coach Bill Champ has resigned the position he held at Hathaway Brown School for 13 years.

With great appreciation for his inspirational coaching style, we wish Bill well in his future endeavors. In his farewell letter, he tells parents and students "This is the right time for me and I am happy to leave while the team is heathy and the future is bright."

During Bill's tenure, the HB swim team saw more than 70 swimmers and relay teams qualify for the state meet and 22 student-athletes named "All Americans." The team won the ISL Championship 10 years in a row, and had five sectional championships, five district runners-up and four finishes in the top five in the state of Ohio.

Athletic Director Amanda Brown is in the process of hiring Bill's successor, a position for which many dynamic and viable candidates are sure to apply, since Bill has established such a legacy of winning professionalism at HB.
