Dear Global Scholars and Families of the Argentina, Orchestra, and Quebec Programs,
As we communicated last week, our decision to send programs abroad is informed by reports and travel alerts issued by national and international agencies including the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, International SOS, and the U.S. State Department. We also stay in steady consultation with our in-country providers and other member independent schools in the Global Education Benchmark Group consortium.
A primary source for assessing the feasibility of international travel amid global concern for the coronavirus is the CDC Travelers' Health resource. Among other considerations, Level 2 and Level 3 warnings about traveling to a certain foreign country would be triggers for HB to reassess the prudence of travel. We are monitoring these CDC levels daily for each of the countries to which we have scheduled student programs. Should the levels warrant a change to these programs, we will be in communication with all of you in as timely a manner as possible. At this time, no changes are planned.
Thank you,
Mike Ciuni
Director of the Center for Global Citizenship
