CHARDON, Ohio — Several Northeast Ohio teenagers were honored on Sunday.

Ten teens in grades 7-12 were recognized as finalists of the 14th annual Searching for Teen Leaders program. They will receive $1,000 leadership awards.

Each individual was nominated by their schools, peers and family.

One of the teens is Chardon High School and Auburn Career Center student, Travis Carver. Travis and a fellow classmate, both EMS students, were there to help one of the students who had been shot in the school cafeteria over a year ago.

Project Love hosted this event.

The winners were announced Sunday at 1 p.m. at the English Oak Room at Tower City Center in downtown Cleveland.
