Richmond Heights salutes its top teens

Jillian Kay Thomas, second from right, was named Richmond Heights Teen Citizen of the Year Jan. 8.

Thomas is a 2012 Hathaway Brown School graduate, and now attends Spelman College in Georgia, majoring in international business.

Samantha Arlesic, second from left, was named first runner-up. Arlesic was salutatorian for the Richmond Heights High School Class of 2012, and is now studying to be a special education teacher at Ashland University.

The honorees were chosen for their stellar academic records, extensive community service and extracurricular achievements. Joining in the ceremony were Police Chief Gene Rowe, left, Mayor Dan Ursu, center, and Sgt. Denise DeBiase, who coordinated the selection process.
