PHOTOS: Hathaway Brown's First Day at School

The Upper School's 351 students began the day with the annual Convocation Ceremony

Applauding teachers and a bagpiper welcomed the girls of Hathaway Brown back to school for their first day of classes on Wednesday.

The Upper School's Convocation Ceremony is only a three-year tradition, but it always produces the festive atmosphere most would expect at the end of a school year.

It began with all 351 students at Hathaway Brown gathering around the school's fountain. Grouped by grade-level, the girls entered the school to the sounds of bagpiper Patrick Walton.

The procession made its way to the auditorium with teachers on both sides clapping the girls into the 2012-2013 school year.
