Over Spring Break, Rachel Leizman '12, who has been competing nationally in the sport of Squash since she was 7 years old, placed fifth in the U.S. Squash Closed Nationals in the U-19 division. Remarkably, she lost only one match during the tournament.

Additionally, Leizman was awarded the very prestigious DeRoy Sportsmanship Award for her outstanding sportsmanship throughout her junior career. According to the U.S. Squash website, the DeRoy Sportsmanship Award is presented annually during the senior high school year to one ranked male and one ranked female junior player who have risen above the expectations of sportsmanship through superb tact and graciousness both on and off the court.

HB offers many congratulations and wishes for continued success to this talented student-athlete. Leizman plans to attend Princeton University in the fall, and all of Blazer Nation will be behind her.
