Nicky DiTirro, an HB pre-kindergartener, placed second in the Canton Scholastic Chess League Tournament held in Canton Ohio on November 12^th.  Because the tournament — Nicky’s first ever — did not have a Pre-K division, Nicky competed in the Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (K - 2) Novice Division.  The only pre-K player in the tournament, Nicky, who started learning chess in September, won one round against a first grader, two rounds against second graders, and had a draw against another second grader, to place 2^nd overall in his category.
