On April 25, eighteen Hathaway Brown seniors were inducted into the Cum Laude Society, an organization established to recognize academic achievement in secondary schools for the purpose of promoting excellence, justice, and honor.

Laney Kuenzel '08, a software engineer at Facebook, delivered the ceremonial address. She encouraged students to be flexible, be confident, and be open to careers in fields traditionally dominated by men -- especially computer science.

The 2014 Cum Laude Society inductees are Sarah Adler, Dhikshitha Balaji, Megan Callanan, Nicole Chesnokov, Emily Fletcher, Fallon Gallagher, Ayah Hassan, Riya Jagetia, Amanda Keresztesy, Grace Li, Susie Min, Aparna Narendrula, Alison Nordell, Elizabeth Powers, Jessica Sher, Julia Weil, Haley Wellener, and Michele Zhou. 

After the ceremony, the newly inducted Cum Laude Society members gathered for a reception with their parents, HB faculty, and guests.
