Setting up the girls lacrosse regional finals

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Four local teams remain in the hunt for the final four in girls lacrosse.

See which programs are headed to the regional finals in Division I and II as well as results from this past week of playoff action.

DIVISION I REGIONAL FINAL OUTLOOK

Medina (15-2) beat Westerville Central, 19-3, to earn a trip to the regional finals on Thursday against Dublin Coffman (14-3). Dublin beat Olentangy Liberty, 13-9, in the semifinals. The Bees are without a loss since their April 12 game against Sycamore, which is the No. 1 ranked team in the state and a perfect 17-0 on the season.

Hudson's season ended with an 18-10 loss to Olentangy (17-1). The Explorers completed the year with a 10-8 record, an improvement from the 7-10 mark the team posted last season.

After beating Magnificat (6-8-1), 10-5, in the second round of the playoffs, Shaker Heights (14-4-1) fell to Massillon Jackson (15-2), 11-6, in the regional semifinals. The Raiders had won their previous six games coming into the matchup.

DIVISION II REGIONAL FINAL OUTLOOK

After topping Bay, 24-3, in the second round of playoff action and then Cardinal Mooney, 22-1, in the regional semifinals, Chagrin Falls is poised to take on Revere in the regional finals on Thursday.

The Minutemen earned wins against Avon Lake, 11-3, and Toledo St. Ursula, 12-4, in the opening rounds before fending off Laurel, 12-10, in the regional semifinals.

Hathaway Brown earned a trip to the regional finals with a 13-10 win against Ottawa Hills in the semifinals against Notre Dame Academy. The Blazers defeated Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, 17-3, and then Wooster, 12-4, in the first two rounds.
