Transportation - Hathaway Brown School | All-girls K-12 in Cleveland

With students coming from over 70 zip codes, HB makes getting to school easier with expanded bus transportation options.

Shared Bus Routes with Partner Schools

Hathaway Brown School, University School, Laurel School offer fee based transportation for families to and from limited locations in the area. This cooperative program is called the Independent Schools Transportation Collaborative (ISTC).

The ISTC aims to provide transportation to and from local districts that do not provide transportation to independent schools, though our routes are limited.

Routes for the 2026-2027 school year will be finalized in the Summer of 2026.

Fees

Families will pay in advance by semester for the route transportation they require, and it will be added to their student billing account. Use of transportation can be segmented by mornings and/or afternoons and by one-half of the school year (August- December and January - May) with the following costs per student:

Half Year - Morning or afternoon: $775.00
Half Year - Morning and afternoon: $1,550.00
Full Year - Morning or afternoon: $1,550.00
Full Year - Morning and afternoon: $3,100.00

Routes

Morning stops are listed in order of pick up. The afternoon route uses the same stops, in reverse order. Families will receive route schedules prior to the start of the school year.

Route 1 - Avon, Westlake, Bay Village, Lakewood, Cleveland

Route 2 - Chardon, Concord, Willoughby

Route 3 - Medina, Strongsville, Broadview Heights, Independence

Route 4 - Twinsburg, Macedonia, Solon, Bainbridge

Public Transportation

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s Green Line Rapid stops at Shaker Boulevard and Courtland Boulevard, a two-block walk from Hathaway Brown School.

Are there shuttles running between campuses?

Hathaway Brown, Laurel, and University School’s Upper School campus are hubs for the intercampus shuttles. Students can be dropped off or picked up at any of the three hubs to catch a bus to any of the other campuses, including University School’s Lower and Middle School campus.

For families with students at multiple campuses, intercampus shuttle service can help simplify logistics.

In the morning, HB students can catch an intercampus shuttle from Laurel or University School’s Upper School campus.
In the afternoon, HB students can catch an intercampus shuttle to Laurel or University School’s Upper School campus.
In the afternoon, students from Laurel and University School (both campuses) can catch an intercampus shuttle to HB.

There is no fee for the intercampus shuttle service, but registration is required and seats may be limited. Priority is given to students who utilize a route bus to commute to school.
