GROW (Girls Reaching Others Worldwide) is a Middle and Upper School student-run foundation dedicated to:
- raising money
- funding and participating in service projects
- and awarding grants to nonprofit organizations and institutions that focus on the needs of children, particularly girls, educational access, hunger, and homelessness
GROW inspires HB girls to develop an early interest in philanthropy. Members of the GROW foundation meet regularly to review grant proposals, plan fundraisers, and increase awareness about the foundation's mission.
The Middle School chapter provides funding for organizations in Greater Cleveland to support educational and social-emotional programming. Grants are awarded to local organizations that address real community needs to help people get back on their feet. The hope is that GROW funding creates a ripple effect of change within disadvantaged communities.
GROW is a group of kind and empowered girls who are dedicated to improving the lives of other Cleveland-area residents, especially adolescent girls.
GROW fosters passion for philanthropy in the Hathaway Brown Upper School community. With a strong interest to empower women and girls, GROW strives to make the greatest impact in under-resourced communities through grant distribution and microfinance loans.
