Alumnae News & Highlights

Dr. Elizabeth Ruppert is a professor, a clinician, and community activist. In 1993 she founded the Prescribed Pediatric Center, a medical day treatment program that provides medically complex infants and children with nursing care, developmentally appropriate education, and lots of time for play and socialization. She also became Professor Emerita at that time. After serving as President from 1995-2000, the Ohio Chapter of the American Association of Pediatrics honored her by renaming their annual Pediatrician of the Year Award The Elizabeth Ruppert, M.D. Award.

“The reality in the world is that some of the best things in life come when you reach out to friends,” says Elizabeth as she reflects on her experience at Hathaway Brown. “The quality of education that I had at HB was superior, making it possible for me to succeed in my dreams – and I am forever grateful.”
