Merit Awards

In honor of our founders and with appreciation for our vibrant community, HB is proud to offer three types of merit awards.

Founders Scholar Awards

Five $20,000 awards for ninth-grade girls who embody the spirit of HB’s five founding girls — with passion, purpose, and unique interests. Selection includes a review of academics, test scores, essays, and recommendations.

Trailblazer Awards

Up to $17,000 for ninth-grade students who show bold vision, leadership, and a commitment to HB’s core values. Awards vary each year and consider academics, test scores, essays, and recommendations.

Anne Hathaway Brown Awards

For girls entering grades 5–12 who reflect HB’s mission — to learn not for school, but for life. Awarded at the discretion of school leadership, based on student character, academics, and application materials.

How to Apply for Flexible Tuition

Flexible Tuition Application

Create an account and submit your application through Clarity. You will be asked to provide applicant, household and financial information. You can save your application and submit it at a later date.

Application Fee

The fee to submit a financial aid application through Clarity is $65. Families may submit a single application for multiple students and apply to multiple schools, as long as those schools also use Clarity as their financial aid platform.

Supporting Documents

Sign and submit 4506C to give Clarity permission to pull your prior year tax forms. This means you won’t need to upload anything yourself. Additional support may be required, which will be identified in your application.

Submit Your Application

Applications for NEW FAMILIES are due January 23, 2026. Applications for RETURNING FAMILIES are due December 1, 2025. Tuition is included in the enrollment contract on February 12, 2026.

How does the flexible tuition application work?

Clarity offers a streamlined, mobile-friendly application that can be completed in 20 minutes. Additionally, if you submit by the admission application deadline, Clarity removes the need to upload your W2s and 1040 by transferring them directly from the IRS. This reduces the amount of information you need to enter manually and makes it possible to complete the application quickly and efficiently.
