Upper School (9-12)
Upper School girls are uniquely prepared for the world beyond HB halls because they are actively engaged in the learning process with teachers who empower them to develop their own ideas and to express them passionately and persuasively.
At the same time, they are immersed in signature programming that reimagines the traditional academic architecture. HB girls have the freedom to explore an array of opportunities in a supportive and challenging environment.
Upper School girls are also involved outside of the classroom — on stage, on a playing field, at a debate tournament, working in a graduate-level research lab or volunteering at a women's shelter.
To help navigate the myriad choices — academic and co-curricular — each student has a faculty mentor who works with her throughout her four years in Upper School.
Fellowships in Applied Studies
No other high school in the U.S. offers the type of experiential learning opportunities that HB girls have through the Fellowships in Applied Studies where they are encouraged and empowered to design their own learning.
In addition to offering transformative experiential curricular opportunities in a variety of disciplines, the Fellowships plus the real-world exposure they provide set HB students apart in the college admission process. Learn more.
