Two HB students win at the 2022 Hope and Stanley Adelstein Free Speech Essay Contest
Neha Sangani '24 and Sahar Maleki '22 placed in the Hope and Stanley Adelstein Free Speech Essay Contest hosted by The City Club of Cleveland.
Neha's essay, "American Irony: Silencing CRT in the name of Democracy" earned first place among 9th/10th-grade submissions.
Sahar placed third in the 11th/12th-grade category with her essay, "The Foundation of an equitable Educational System: Freedom of Speech.”
About the Hope and Stanley Adelstein Free Speech Essay Contest
The Hope and Stanley Adelstein Free Speech Essay Contest challenges high school students to examine the role of free speech in the 21st century. The essay contest was established by Hope and Stanley as part of the City Club of Cleveland’s Centennial celebration.
