Seven Students Win National NCWIT Awards for Aspirations in Computing

Seven Upper School students received the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC). The award recognizes high school students for their computing-related achievements and interests, as part of an effort to encourage a diverse range of students to choose careers in technology. Over 3500 applications were submitted for this years competition.
HB's National NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing recipients are:
Lillian Botros ’22: Affiliate Honorable Mention
Shubhee Gandhi ’23: Affiliate Winner
Sahar Maleki ‘23: National Honorable Mention
Suzi Schwabl ’22: Affiliate Winner
Elena Wearsch ‘23: Affiliate Winner
Maisie Yan ‘23: Affiliate Winner
Julia Zhu ‘24: Affiliate Honorable Mention
Four hundred award recipients were selected from high schools across 43 states and all U.S. overseas military bases for their outstanding aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for post-secondary education.
