44 Student Writers Recognized in the 2023 Scholastic Writing Awards

Hathaway Brown students won more 2023 Scholastic Writing Awards than the year prior with 94 awards and an additional two American Voices nominations. Forty-four students received 94 awards. Two students, who were recognized with Gold Key awards, are American Voices nominees.

Maria Flauto '26 is an American Voices Nominee for her short story, Pushing Daisies.

Zoe Nelson '23 is an American Voices Nominee for her critical essay, The Trail to Cultural Conformity: A History of Native American Struggle in the 19th Century.

The annual Scholastic Art & Writing Competition recognizes creative achievement for students in grades 7-12. The artists and writers compete for cash prizes, medals, and scholarship awards.
