150th Celebration: Movie Night at Blossom

For 150 years, Hathaway Brown’s legacy has been one of bold ideas, trailblazing women, and lasting impact. To mark the beginning of this milestone school year, the HB community gathered at Blossom Music Center with the Cleveland Orchestra—an institution whose very roots trace back to HB alumnae.

The Cleveland Orchestra was founded by Adella Prentiss Hughes, HB Class of 1886, and Blossom itself carries deep HB ties through the Blossom family, whose alumnae span generations: Elizabeth Bingham Blossom, Class of 1899; Laurel Blossom ’61; Elizabeth Blossom Meers ’70; Pam Holmes Blossom ’83; Ginny Blossom Kruntorad ’84; Elizabeth Blossom ’16; and Jennifer Blossom ’19.

Guests enjoyed a magical evening featuring a performance of The Lion King and a special pre-show visit from conductor Sarah Hicks. It was a fitting celebration of HB’s enduring influence on the cultural fabric of Cleveland.

For 150 years, Hathaway Brown has not only educated generations of women but also helped shape the arts, community, and city we call home.
