Job Title: Upper School Head Field Hockey Coach Coach
Location: Shaker Heights, Ohio
Job Type: Part-Time (Seasonal); Season runs from August to November
Hathaway Brown School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Upper School Head Field Hockey Coach to lead and inspire our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching, a commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive team culture.
Develop and implement effective and age-appropriate training programs.
Instruct student-athletes on the fundamentals, strategies, and rules of field hockey.
Foster a positive and competitive team environment.
2. Player Development:
Provide individualized feedback to players for skill improvement.
Support players in setting and achieving personal and team goals.
Encourage a commitment to academic success and sportsmanship.
3. Program Administration:
Coordinate practice schedules, game schedules, and team logistics.
Collaborate with the athletic department on program development and enhancement.
Attend school and athletic department meetings as required.
Maintain open and transparent communication with players, parents, and school administrators
Provide regular updates on team progress and achievements.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Extensive knowledge of field hockey rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Valid coaching certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Background check clearance.
- Availability for afternoon practices and evening games during the Field Hockey Season season.
