Hathaway Brown is seeking a dynamic and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our team and help our student-athletes achieve their full potential. The Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young athletes, a strong understanding of sports performance, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.


  • Develop and implement strength and conditioning programs for all sports teams.

  • Conduct assessments to determine the physical condition and training needs of student-athletes.

  • Design individualized and team-based training programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and promote overall health and wellness.

  • Demonstrate collaboration with coaches, athletic trainers, and other school staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student-athlete development.

  • Provide instruction on proper lifting techniques, conditioning exercises, mobility and injury prevention strategies.

  • Monitor and track the progress of student-athletes, adjusting programs as needed.

  • Educate students on nutrition, recovery, and healthy lifestyle choices.

  • Maintain a safe and positive training environment.

  • Stay current with best practices in strength and conditioning and attend relevant professional development opportunities.

  • Ability to design each team’s program to reflect the sport-specific parameters for success and to reduce the risk of injury inherent to the unique demands of each sport.

  • Maintain a positive, enthusiastic and team-driven atmosphere and culture during all training sessions focusing on physical, emotional, and mental health.

  • Implement resources to student-athletes demonstrating the development of life-long skills such as goal-setting, mental rehearsal, weight lifting and attention to small detail.

  • Proven ability to exemplify the highest standard of leadership, sportsmanship and respect as a role model for student-athletes.

  • Teach Flex Fitness as a part of the physical education department.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field.

  • Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., NSCA-CSCS, NASM-PES, USAW).

  • Previous experience working as a strength and conditioning coach, preferably with high school athletes.

  • Strong knowledge of strength training, conditioning techniques, and injury prevention.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
