Summary:
Hathaway Brown School seeks a full-time long term substitute Upper School (9-12) Visual Arts Teacher. Responsibilities include a full-time teaching load requiring expertise and knowledge in teaching drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, design, photography and other traditional visual arts media. This role has an expected duration of 12 weeks starting February 10, 2023.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach a full load of classes: including Studio Art Survey, digital photography, and ceramics, and Publication Design (yearbook).

Assist in maintaining art studio classrooms and safety norms.

Prepare art materials and equipment in the classroom for students to use

Assign art projects to students, grade the finished projects, and maintain records of the students' progress in an online gradebook. Write comments about student progress for interim reports.

Display student artwork throughout the building.

Supervise lunch and moderate study hall.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Adobe In-Design and Photoshop

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Applicants should hold a minimum of a BA or BFA in Visual Arts or Arts Education with experience teaching at the high school level.
