Hathaway Brown is pleased to host one of more than 220 TEDx events in 58 countries around the world taking part in TEDWomen on December 5, 2013. We will be sharing the live stream and presenting our own speakers around the theme "Invented Here." TEDWomen will foster a truly global conversation -- from San Francisco to São Paulo to Seoul -- celebrating inventors and designers; thinkers and makers; local problem-solvers and global leaders.
Our event at HB enables us to connect with a powerful group convening to learn how to bring necessary solutions to some the world's current challenges. Focused on invention, TEDWomen provides us an opportunity to learn about some innovative thinking of women with wide ranging expertise.
TEDxHBSWomen is part of the Be Well, Lead Well initiative at HB. We believe the experience will be helpful as we collaborate here to invent new ways to bring wellness, health, leadership and power together.
TEDxHBSWomen will feature three in-person presentations, followed by an intermission with hors d'oeuvres and the opportunity for attendees to connect. The second half of the program will include a live broadcast of talks from the national TEDWomen conference in San Francisco. We're pleased to offer a wonderful array of perspectives at our inaugural TEDxHBSWomen event, with in-person presentations by Maryrose T. Sylvester, President and CEO of GE Lighting; Amy G. Brady, Chief Information Officer for Key Technology & Operations; and Rebecca O. Bagley, President and CEO of NorTech. The program also will include streamed talks by presenters at the national TEDWomen conference scheduled for that same day.
Registration is now closed.
WHAT IS TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxHBSWomen, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxHBSWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

This TEDx event is independently organized.
