Leading for Life: Outdoor Adventure and Leadership Experience

Leading for Life:
Outdoor Adventure and Leadership Experience     FULL

Girls in grades 5 - 8 (as of fall 2012) will:

  • Kayak, canoe, fly fish, paddle board, and do orienteering and Geo Caching
  • Learn to take risks safely, while challenging themselves in the water, along the trail, and on the high ropes course
  • Develop a new leadership attitude so they can become a leader in their own life
  • Enjoy daily field trips, time on the ropes course, and self-exploration through writing and reflection

Due to the nature of some of the adventure activities, campers should be comfortable in and around water and be able to pass a basic swim test.

The camp’s director is Shannon Liber (sliber@hb.edu or 216.320.8796 x7157), who’s been teaching Adventure Learning and Physical Education at Hathaway Brown for six years. HB’s Center for Girls’ and Women’s Leadership will also assist in the camp’s design and approach.
