Middle School Visual Arts
In the middle school art studio, HB students are regarded as artists, and they are encouraged to respond to their own creative ideas while continually building upon traditional art skills and innovative new techniques.
Student artists, (grades 5-8), gain experience using a wide variety of media to create individual 2D, 3D, and collaborative works, and are actively involved in designing division-wide art installations. They are also regularly introduced to artists around the globe that are currently influencing and changing the future of art, fashion, and design, as well as the influential artists of the past.
The innovative visual arts program at HB provides middle school artists an authentic art studio experience that embraces creativity and risk-taking, while constantly developing the skills necessary for explorative thinking and individualized advancement in artistic behavior.
