Center for Academic Potential

  • Hathaway Brown School has a long history of appreciating and celebrating the different learning styles of our students. The mission of the Center for Academic Potential is to help each girl become an independent learner, meet her academic potential, and prepare her to interact and communicate with resilience and competence in a global society.

  • The Center for Academic Potential is largely responsible for facilitating the implementation of Excellence by Design, the concept and process of understanding the learning, social, and emotional landscape of each student, so that, over time, we can build on her strengths and help her to meet her overall potential.

  • The Learning Specialists, experts in the process of learning, serve as resources to the entire HB staff, including the admissions program. The Center for Academic Potential provides a longitudinal perspective for each student, as well as continuity of knowledge from year to year and from division to division.
