Center for Innovative Teaching
Hathaway Brown’s Center for Innovative Teaching tends to the professional growth of our educational community, a dedicated and talented faculty and staff. In support of the School mission, the Center is committed to constantly improving the quality of the student experience by striving for best practice in teaching as well as innovation in curriculum and programming. The Center’s activities include a mentoring and orientation program for new faculty, a second year faculty coaching program, professional development funding for teachers and staff at all stages of their career, an in-house professional development series, department chair development, incubation of new curricular initiatives, graduate tuition assistance, Catalyst funding and Innovation grants for faculty pursuits. Directed by Associate Head of School, Sue Sadler, the Center facilitates the professional recruitment, hiring, and evaluation processes, and works with the Head of School and Board of Trustees on strategic planning.
