What is the Institute? It's a collection of opportunities. It's a solar system of possibilities. It's a new way of thinking about the kind of school students need so they can be prepared for success in today's world.

Sometimes the Institute is a room. Sometimes it's a class. No matter what it is, it always aims to unleash a student's creativity, imagination and passion.

In the center of the Institute is the core curriculum that instills in our students the central skills and knowledge they need to be educated. The planets that orbit our core curriculum enable students to work in-depth and hands-on in a field they're curious or passionate about.

The Institute is one major reason HB isn't like other schools. The educational designs in each division have allowed Hathaway Brown to become a thought-leader in education. They've earned the School attention and praise from theNational Association of Independent Schools as well as the Edward E. Ford Foundation that recently awarded the School $250,000 based on the Institute's design and results.
