Congratulations to HB's FIRST Robotics Team 2399
for their great performance in Buckeye FIRST Midwest Regional Competition, held February 26 -28, 2009, at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center.
Of the 59 teams that competed, the HB contingent was one of only two that were made up of all girls. Team 2399
finished 10 places higher than last year, besting 15 other teams. Student participants in the Buckeye FIRST Midwest Regional came from all around the country to compete, representing schools in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida and other states.
At the close of the competition, Hathaway Brown took home the Delphi "Driving Tomorrow's Technology" Award, a major award that was recognizes innovative design and verbal interview skills.

. The robot was built at Case Western Reserve University under the mentorship of Dr.Wyatt Newman
and five of his students.
The team now will compete in the FIRST Regional event to be held in Pittsburgh March 12-14.
