October 4: Thomas Friedman to headline Education Innovation Summit

October 4-5, 2012: Education Innovation Summit, Hathaway Brown School, 19600 North Park Blvd., Shaker Heights. 

Hathaway Brown’s third annual Education Innovation Summit, Everybody's Children: Independent Schools, Educational Reform, and the Future of Teaching, will take place on the school’s campus October 4-5, 2012. Open to the general public and to teachers and administrators from independent, public, private, parochial, and charter schools across the country, this event aims to raise and answer questions about how to improve education across the spectrum for the good of all America's children.

Keynote presentation by New York Times Pulitzer Prize-winning foreign affairs columnist Thomas Friedman; featured presentation by Paul Tough, author of “How Children Succeed;” and talks by many of the brightest minds in education today. The event also will include a special panel discussion with some of the architects and supporters of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District's Transformation Plan: CMSD CEO Eric Gordon, Cleveland Education Chief Monyka Price, President of the Cleveland Teachers Union David Quolke, and State Senator Nina Turner.
