GENERAL

Varsity and JV spring sports begin on February 23, 2015.  Times vary for each sport; please contact the head coach of your sport for further information.  The mandatory OHSAA Parent/Athlete Meeting will be held in the Dining Hall on February 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

Recently we rolled out the Hathaway Brown Athletics Road Maps, a new educational and physical fitness resource for HB girls and their families who are interested in learning more about the 11 athletics disciplines available at the developmental, Middle School, JV, and Varsity levels.  These Athletics Road Maps were created as a way for us to share the knowledge and expertise of HB’s coaching staff and the members of our athletics and physical education departments. Families can use these maps as tools to get their children on the right path with athletics at a young age.  Check them out on our website: www.hb.edu/roadmaps (portal password is required).

Don't forget to check out the Blazer Athletics Camp offerings at www.hb.edu/summer.

FINAL FORMS

We are very excited that our Athletics Department has partnered with FinalForms, an online application that will enable parents and students to complete and file all of their mandatory Athletics & Medical forms electronically.

FinalForms is available for all Hathaway Brown Student-Athletes online at:

https://hathawaybrown.finalforms.com

Once you go to this site, you will need to set up separate accounts and passwords for both parents and student-athletes. Please follow the instructions in the Parent Playbook (found here) to set up these accounts and register your student-athlete.

The ONLY form that you are still required to actually print, complete and return to Jody Duecker in the Athletics Department is the OHSAA Physical form pages 1-4. The OHSAA Physical form must be completed by a doctor, and by law we are required to have a signed copy on file before the student-athlete's first day of practice - no exceptions. Once your student-athlete's OHSAA Physical form is received by the Athletics Department, we will input the expiration date into FinalForms and then you will receive automatic notifications when your student-athlete's OHSAA Physical and forms need to be updated.

Registering your first child will take about 5-10 minutes. Registering additional children will take about 2-3 minutes each. Information is stored from season to season and from year to year, and also shared within families - eliminating the need to enter the same information more than once. Your only annual requirement will be logging in to verify the existing information for your child by re-signing each form.

We realize that you may have already filled out some of these forms earlier in the year, but we are asking you to fill them out again in this online format so that we may begin to convert everyone to this new system. If you have turned in your OHSAA Physical form for the season already, you DO NOT need to re-submit that form as we already have it on file.

Once you have completed the registration of your student-athlete, please download and print the Online Athletics Form Confirmation Page (found here) and return it to Julie Lozon in the Athletics office as soon as possible.

Thank you for your assistance in streamlining our paperwork process in the Athletics Department. Should you have any questions, please contact Julie Lozon at jlozon@hb.edu.
