Crew Announcement from CYRA:
CYRA is in full season!

The weekend of April 26 & 27, the girls from HB participated at the Governor's Cup regatta in Columbus. CYRA had 12 HB rowers medal in a number of exciting 2k meter races:

- Seniors Alison Nordell, Alex Clemens, Paige Papesch, and Lauren Dierker placed 2nd in the 1st Varsity 8.

- Seniors Zita Gratzl and Sarah Dierker also got 2nd place in the 2nd Varsity 8.

- Sophomore Lila McKenna coxed the 1st Novice 4 boat to a 2nd place finish.

- Freshman Claire Martens got 3rd in the Novice 8 A boat.

- Sophomores Hannah Langenderfer and Regan Alt, and freshmen Christine Coyne, Andreanna Hardy, and Marisa Lancaster came in 2nd place in the Novice 8 B boat.

Out of the 17 clubs on the river that day, CYRA finished 2nd as a team overall - an extremely impressive finish for such a newly developed team. Great job to all the rowers! Three weeks until Midwest Junior Championships!

Also, Dick's Sporting Goods is holding a fund-raiser with CYRA as part of their Sports Matters Program. If CYRA can raise $40,000 in the next five weeks, DSG will match that amount, totaling at minimum to a whopping $80k for our team! To put this amount in perspective, one new 8-boat costs roughly $38,000! Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, and will help immensely as the staff continues to revamp the program. Jessica Young placed first in the 800m while the 4x100 (Hall, Lipford, Sutton and Murthy) and 4x400 (Grube, Felderman, Fuente and Carrington) relay teams each sprinted to a first-place finish.
