Piano Palooza
Many thanks to Chelsea McCallum and Laura Webster for putting together some wonderful events for our Prime girls and the entire HB community. In celebration of several new pianos funded by our HBPA, a special Piano Palooza event was held in each division. Prime’s Piano Palooza was held during lunch one day this week and will continue one day next week. Prime girls who take piano lessons entertained us with their skills and played beautiful music. The highlight of this celebration was a concert by internationally known (and locally grown) Jim Brickman and Anne Cochran. This morning the Atrium was filled with beautiful music and a smiling HB community. Please check the website for photos.

HB Vacation Camp – Don’t Forget to Sign Up!

Win a Free T-shirt!
Wherever you are over Spring Break, pull out your cell phone or your camera and snap a photo of yourself sporting a t-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, sweatpants – anything with a Hathaway Brown logo.  Whether you’re in the White House or your own house, we want to see you decked out!  Send your photos to photocontest@hb.edu and we’ll use them on our website, in our magazine and in a special display at the Brown Bag. Only photos with HB logos will be considered for a random drawing of one student from each division, one faculty/staff member, and one alumna to win a T-shirt from the Brown Bag.  All entries must be received by April 4.

Holi Festival
Holi is a Hindu/Indian celebration of spring.  Here at HB, thanks to the idea of a few of our Southeast Asian students, we have used the holiday as inspiration for our own celebration of spring and diversity.  Students will have the opportunity to color rangoli on the atrium floor, listen to bollywood-style music and try chai - all wonderful indulgences from the traditional Holi festivities and paths to hopefully learning more about one of the cultures that make HB such a diverse and inclusive place.

People interested in helping with the HB Holi celebration, which will take place Monday, April 7 – Friday, April 11 should contact Toni Cross, sixth grade history teacher and diversity liaison, at tcross@hb.edu. Happy Holi!

Carnival
Join us for Hathaway Brown's Annual 5K Carnival Race on Sunday, April 13 at 9 a.m. All proceeds from this year's events will benefit the New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC) organization. For more information on the 5K, please contact Denise Keary at 216.320.8789
