“Stuff the Bus” Food Drive - A Huge Success!
Many thanks for all of the encouragement you gave your girls to bring in items for Stuff the Bus. Once again the Prime and EC pulled through in a big way and donated more items than the other divisions! We ended up sending a second bus (not full) to the food bank.  HB collected over 4,000 pounds of food!

It's about a girl.
Did you know that even the smallest gift to the Annual Fund can have a big impact? Every gift counts towards our participation rate. High rates of participation in giving impact HB’s ability to attract gifts and grants from foundations, corporations and other sources. When it comes to participation, the smallest gift is equal in impact to the largest gift! Have you made your contribution to this year’s Annual Fund? Please visit www.hb.edu/supportHB. For more information, you can contact Marcia Merritt at (216) 320-8796 ext. 7189 or mmerritt@hb.edu.

Heritage Potluck Dinner - January 31, 2014
The Heritage Potluck Dinner is a celebration of the traditions of HB students, families, and faculty. The community comes together for multicultural food, entertainment, crafts and games. Whether your family has traced your roots or you love to watch a football game every week in team colors, this is a wonderful opportunity to share your family's cultural heritage and family tradition with the whole community. Attendees are welcome to wear clothing representing the traditions of their families. R.S.V.P. using our online form by January 27, 2014. Questions? Contact HeritageDinnerRSVP@hb.edu

Help us Stay in Touch Around the Globe
In partnership with the Center for Global Citizenship and the Worldwide Communications Center, we have been able to share the experiences from all of our international trips through the use of global-capable Blackberry phones. Every Hathaway Brown School sponsored program over the past two years has been able to share their travels using Twitter on these phones. The program leaders and students have been able to communicate using Twitter as often as possible with the goal of being able to share their experiences during the trip.

Technology has changed significantly over the past few years, and we are transitioning away from Blackberry phones and shifting to the Verizon Apple iPhone 5. These phones are unlocked and capable of accepting global SIM cards for voice and data.

As many families already own iPhones and are starting to move to the new iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, we are asking for donations of the used Verizon iPhone 5. If you are interested in donating a used Verizon iPhone 5, please contact Barry Kallmeyer (bkallmeyer@hb.edu) or Joe Vogel (jvogel@hb.edu). All donations will be acknowledged.

Have a restful and safe holiday weekend!
