UPPER SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS

Basketball - The basketball team was busy over winter break when they played 5 games in just over 2 weeks. The varsity team holds a record of 6-7 and currently is on a 2 game winning streak. Coach Coreno captured his 250th career win over St. Vincent St. Mary in the team most recent victory, congratulations Coach! The team is playing well together and is preparing for the post season with their rigorous game schedule. The JV team had a successful winter break winning 4 out of the 5 games played against some tough competition. As the season progresses, the JV team has learned and continues to learn to play as a solid basketball team. 

Next Game: Wednesday, January 11, 2017 on Perry High School - JV at 6:00 p.m. & Varsity at 7:30 p.m.

Swimming & Diving- The varsity swimming and diving team was hard at work over the holiday break when they put in several hours each day of practice in the pool and on the deck. The team competed at the Viking Invitational over winter break where they had a strong showing in several events. Varsity swimming and diving has also defeated Beaumont, Laurel, Shaker and Magnificat making them undefeated in dual meets. Jamie Doak '19 has already broken her own varsity diving record 3 times this season. 

Next Meet: Today, Tuesday, January 10 @ HB vs. Hawken at 5:00 p.m.

  • The Hathaway Brown Figure Skating Club will participate in the Ohio High School Team Figure Skating Competition on Saturday, February 11, 2017 and Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Thornton Park Ice Rink in Shaker Heights.

  • Upper School Winter Sports Awards - March 15, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Ahuja Auditorium 
MIDDLE SCHOOL 
The middle school basketball and swimming teams took a bit of an intermission over winter break but have been hard at work so far in 2017. In their most recent competition, the swim team came in 7th place out of 19 teams at the 7th & 8th Grade Invitational and their dual record still remains 4-1-1. The basketball team will play the majority of their games over the next few weeks. The girls have been eager to learn so far this season and are excited to test their skills in their upcoming games.
