BASKETBALL

After a firey 5-0 start to their season, the Varsity Basketball team had bit of a drop off but with their toughness the team has been able to maintain a winning record. The team has a record of 8-6 and is looking to increase the number in the win column in upcoming games. Going into the holiday break, the Blazers were 5-4 and hungry for a win. The first game during break was in Toledo at Rogers High School, the Blazers fell to Rogers moving their record to 5-5. The three game winning streak began in Columbus at a Holiday Tournament where the Blazers defeated Chillicothe (46-41) and Bishop Hartley (52-33). Most recently the Blazers defeated Euclid (44-34) and have a lot of momentum moving into the week.

The JV Basketball team has made some marked improvements. While the team has yet to capture their first win, the girls have had many small victories thus far. In the first game of 2016 against Euclid the team battled back from a 12 point deficit and came within 5. It was by far the best game of their season. The coaches and team continue to work hard, learning the fundamentals of basketball and acheiving their goals.  The JV team hopes to record their first victory in the near future!
