CROSS COUNTRY

The Varsity Cross Country team has had a successful regular season with several top finishes. This weekend, they will compete in the OHSAA Division II District Meet at Willoughby South High School at 1:00 p.m.  They are a strong team and hope to make it to the Regional Meet for the second year in a row!

GOLF

For the first time ever in Blazer Golf history, the Varsity Golf team was bumped up to Division I after the OHSAA reconfigured school enrollment numbers.   That did not stop our Varsity Golf team from finishing the regular sesason undefeated.  They placed second in the OHSAA Division I Sectional Tournament to advance to Districts.  At the OHSAA Division I District Tournament the team finished with on of their best scores of the season, unfortunately it was not enough to advance the Blazers to States. Congratulations on a fantastic season!

FIELD HOCKEY

The Varsity Field Hockey team started off their season with a few tough opponents and learned a lot from those challenging games. The Blazers are a young team with only one senior, and the team has made tremendous improvement over the course of the year. They finished out the regular season with a record of 10-5-2.  With playoff wins over Stow (3-0) and Magnificat (4-3) the team has advanced to the OHSAA District Semi Final Game.

The JV field hockey team has had a very successful season as well. They completed the regular season with a record of 8-2 and yesterday the team won the championship game of the JV tournament.  The team was estactic to end their season on such a high note beating Hudson's JV team who was undefeated.

Upcoming Game: Tuesday October 27, 2015 - OHSAA District Semi Final vs. Hudson 5:00 p.m. @ Malson Field (77 N. Oviatt St, Hudson, OH)

SOCCER

The Varsity Soccer team had an impressive regular season with a record of 9-4-3 with an extremly challenging schedule. There is no doubt the strength of schedule will carry the team in playoffs.  The team was seeded #1 at the OHSAA Division II seeding meeting and has already advanced to the District Semi Final game with a 6-0 win over Laurel School.

The JV soccer team also had a successful season with some returning players as well as with some new freshmen. The team made a lot of progress throughout the season and blended very well.  They ended their season last week with a record of 6-4-4. Congratulations on a great season!

TENNIS

The Varsity "A" tennis team was undeafeated throughout the entire season, including post season making them State Champions!  That's right, Blazer Tennis was crowned the 2015 OTCA State Champions.  This is an amazing accomplishment and Blazer Nation could not be more proud of the team!  In the OHSAA Division II State Tournament, Ally Persky '17 and Catherine Areklett '17 were State Runner-Up in doubles and Lauren Gillinov '17 was the State Champion in singles for the second year in a row!  On Monday, October 26, 2015 the entire school will celebrate this wonderful acheivement with a Blazer Day!

The Varsity "B" tennis team began their season with quite a few away matches but that did not stop them from impressing Blazer Nation.  The team was small in numbers but big in energy, attitude, and talent.  They completed their season with a record of 13-6 and had big wins against a lot of schools Varsity "A" teams.  Congrats on a great season!

The JV tennis team was lucky to have a large roster this year. Similarly to the Varsity "B" team they began their season on the road which was great for team bonding. Upon the team's return to the area they began to gel quickly and were able to develop a very strong lineup.  Overall the team had a great season with a winning record of 10-6!  Congratulations to all on a terrific season!

VOLLEYBALL

The Varsity Volleyball team has been successful so far this season.  They certainly gained a lot of momentum heading into the post season after some close matches with highly ranked teams in Columbus.  The Blazers were seeded #4 at the OHSAA Division II draw meeting and have advanced to the District Semi Final game alraedy with a win over Chagrin Falls 3-1!

The JV Volleyball team finished their season on a high note at the Magnificat JV Tournament. The team had a perfect mixture of freshmen and sophmores to compliment one another and bonded well as a team for marked success.

Cross Country

The middle school cross country season was one of discovery.  The team consisted of three returning cross country runners and six new runners. The girls learned what it was like to train with purpose and to use each other to bring out the best in one another.  They learned how to run in packs and to push forward when they thought they couldn't.  Each meet the girls ran to beat themselves and with purpose. At the league championship each runner received her PR (personal record). Congratulations cross country runners on an awesome season.

Captain: Kylie Blackburn and Alessandra Vucenovic

The Gold and Black teams had an enthusiastic season of growth. The middle school Gold volleyball team completed the season with  4 wins and 6 losses while the Black team improved with each game played.  The teams became more aggressive in pursuit of balls. The girls learned to begin each attack with a strong and well placed set. The team used the tools and techniques taught during practice to make a real impact on the matches.
