CLEVELAND, Ohio – It was a long haul, but 15 finalists finally took the stage at Cleveland's House of Blues Saturday night hoping to leave with $1,000 and more in prizes. In the end, there could only be one.
The night concluded with Backstage Politics being named the winner of the 2014 Tri-C High School Rock Off. The band impressed the judges with precise musicianship, a solid stage show and a large following.
As the winner, the members of Backstage Politics will split $1,000 in cash. The band members' high school music program will also get $250.
The band will also get a $1,000 gift card from the Ohio Music Shop to use towards purchasing any Woody James product, plus a chance to open for a Live Nation or House of Blues show. STEVE and The Visitors took home second and third place, respectively.
