Claire Ashmead '12 is someone who's just plain fun to be around.

A phenomenally impressive student, she racked up perfect scores on both the ACT and the SAT, and she's taken 20 Honors and Advanced Placement courses during her time at Hathaway Brown. But she doesn't let any of that go to her head. She's friendly, outgoing, and kind. Among other things, she's the Senate President at HB, and co-chair of the Asian Awareness Association. She possesses a dry wit that would be the envy of professional comedians, and she's always willing to lend a hand.

Headed off to Princeton in the fall, Ashmead is a talented musician, a determined athlete, and a dependable volunteer. Equally adept at arts and sciences, she's accumulated scores of awards for her work throughout her high school career.

And now she's been named a Senior Standout by The Plain Dealer. Read more about her remarkable gifts in the May 20 issue of the paper or online at cleveland.com:
