In their ninth consecutive appearance at state, the Hathaway Brown Varsity Field Hockey program ended the 2011 season as State Runner Up. 

The championship matchup between the Blazers and Thomas Worthington High School ended with an overtime goal scored by the Cardinals with 2:25 remaining. The final score was 1-0. It was a thrilling game from start to finish, and the entire season (15-3-2) was a memorable one.

The team left it all on the field and represented HB with grit and grace.
