MESSAGE FROM DIRECTORS

About six years ago, just as Aspire was emerging from the "think tank"
phase, Malcolm Gladwell's book The Tipping Point had just been published. The book brought forth the idea that sometimes, when a small
number of people start behaving differently it is possible for the
new behavior to trigger an "epidemic of change". Gladwell offers multiple examples from history illustrating
how some small changes have been amplified in astounding ways.
This idea resonated for us because Aspire
was started with the hope that small things can spark big
changes. Aspire is about finding
hope and staying hopeful----about schools, about education, and
about tapping into human potential. Now that Aspire is emerging from its pilot phase,
we are beginning to see how Aspire is beginning to having impact on all
who become part of it and love imagining
how what happens at
Aspire might be amplified.
